How to create (organize) matches

How to Create a Match on Main Court

To create a match, tap the + button at the bottom of Main Court and select Match.

You’ll complete the match setup on one screen, then move to the invite screen.

Below is what each option does, in the order you see it.

1. Match Setup Options (Setup Screen)

1. Would you like to use the Main Court Waiver for this event? (Toggle)

If ON, players must sign a liability waiver before joining.

Useful for: clubs, coaching, paid events.

2. Number of Players

Enter the total number of players needed.

This tells Main Court how many spots to fill.

3. Are you playing? (Toggle)

If ON, you count as a player and take a spot.

If OFF, you’re hosting but not playing.

4. Match Type

Select the format:

  • Singles
  • Doubles
  • Drilling
  • Ladder

This tells players what kind of match they’re joining.

5. Select Match Location

Choose where the match will take place.

If your location isn’t listed, tap Add New Court.

6. Select Date and Time

Choose when the match will happen.

7. Select Co-organizer

Add someone to help you run the match.

Optional.

8. Recurring Match (Toggle)

If ON, the match automatically repeats (example: weekly).

Main Court can auto-create and invite players for future matches.

9. Set Match to Open (Toggle)

If ON, the match is visible to everyone on Main Court.

Benefits:

  • Fill spots fast
  • Meet new players

If OFF, only invited players can join.

10. Skill Level Not Applicable (Toggle)

If ON, skill level doesn’t matter.

If OFF, use the slider below to set skill range.

11. Skill Level Slider

Set a minimum and maximum skill level for the match.

This helps with balanced play.

12. Have You Reserved a Court? (Yes/No)

Tell players whether the court is reserved.

  • Yes: The court is confirmed
  • No: Still working on it, or public courts

13. Cost Per Player (Optional)

Enter a fee per player (if any).

If entered, Main Court handles payments automatically.

14. Notes

Add any useful details players should know.

Examples:

  • Format
  • Equipment
  • Parking
  • Weather plan

15. Next

Tap Next to move to the Invite screen.

No invitations have been sent yet.

2. Inviting Players

Once you hit Next, you’ll see the Invite screen.

Here’s what you can do:

Search and Select Players

You can search for players individually by name.

Invite Groups

You can select groups you’ve created to invite multiple people quickly.

Search the Network

You can look for players outside your friend list or groups.

Use Filters

Tap the filter icon in the top right to narrow players by criteria such as:

  • Skill level
  • Location

This helps you find relevant players faster.

Selections Stay Saved

As you select players or groups, your selections remain saved even as you switch between:

  • Friends
  • Groups
  • Network

This lets you build your invite list easily across multiple categories.

When Ready, Tap Next

This takes you to a final confirmation screen with all selected players.

3. Reach Out Order (Optional)

The Reach Out Order lets you choose who gets invited first and when other players receive invites.

Turn Reach Out Order ON to use it.

How it Works

  • All selected players start in Group 1
  • Group 1 gets invites immediately when you press send

You can move players into later groups:

  • Group 2: invited +1 hour later
  • Group 3: invited +2 hours later
  • Group 4: invited +3 hours later

This creates a staged invitation process.

Why Use It

  • Give priority players first chance
  • Avoid overfilling instantly
  • Reduce chaos
  • Automate invite timing
  • Save time and effort

Great for scheduled matches, recurring groups, and competitive play.

What Happens if a Group Fills the Match

If Group 1 fills all available spots, later groups will not be invited.

If players decline, spots open up, and later groups can fill them.

Can I Change the Timing?

Not currently.

Intervals are fixed at 1 hour.

How Do Invites Get Sent?

Players receive invitations via:

  • Push notification
  • Email
  • In-app notification

4. Sending Invites

Once everything is set:

  1. Tap Send Invites
  2. Main Court sends Group 1 invites immediately
  3. Later groups are sent automatically on schedule (if enabled)

Players can:

  • Accept
  • Decline

The match fills automatically until it reaches the number of players you set.

5. After Invites Are Sent

Organizers and players can view:

  • Confirmed participants
  • Open spots
  • Match details

You can find this under:

  • My Matches / Scheduled Matches

Players will find invites under:

  • Notifications
  • Open Matches
  • Email

6. Summary

Main Court helps you run matches efficiently by handling:

  • Logistics
  • Invitations
  • Payments
  • Waivers
  • Scheduling

You set the match up once.

The system does the heavy lifting to fill it.
