Auto-Approve Players vs Request to Play

This setting controls how players join your match — either instantly or by request.

🔧 Where to Find Auto-Approve Players

When creating a match, you’ll see a toggle option called:

👉 Auto-Approve Players

This setting allows you to decide how players can join your match before it goes live.

🚀 How It Works

  • Auto-Approve ON: Players can register instantly and are added to confirmed players
  • Auto-Approve OFF: Players must request to play and wait for your approval

⚡ Key Difference

  • Register = Instant confirmation
  • Request to Play = Manual approval

🎯 When to Use Each

Use Auto-Approve if you want to:

  • Fill your match quickly
  • Reduce admin time
  • Allow qualified players to join instantly

Use Request to Play if you want to:

  • Control exactly who joins
  • Keep matches private or selective
  • Review players before confirming

📌 Examples

Weekly Match with Friends

If you run a regular match with your friends but are open to new players:

  • Keep Auto-Approve OFF
  • Players request to join and you decide who to accept

This helps you maintain the level and group dynamic while still meeting new players.

Club or Ladder Play (First Come, First Serve)

If you’re running a club session or ladder where spots are filled based on availability:

  • Turn Auto-Approve ON
  • Players register instantly and secure their spot

This is ideal when you don’t need to review players and want to fill spots quickly.

⚙️ Default Setting

Auto-Approve is off by default, meaning players must request to join.

👉 To allow instant registration, turn Auto-Approve Players ON

🧠 Bottom Line

  • Auto-Approve = Speed
  • Request to Play = Control

Use the one that fits how you run your match.
