How to Change Your Skill Level on Main Court

Why Is Your Skill Level Important?

Your skill level in Main Court determines which matches, tournaments, and events you can participate in. For example, if you are a 4.0 player, you can compete in tournaments with a skill level of 4.0 and above but cannot register for tournaments with a skill level of 3.9 or below. Using Opponent Feedback

Main Court’s Opponent Feedback system provides another way to adjust your skill level dynamically based on gameplay. This system fosters a supportive pickleball community by allowing players to provide input on their opponents' skill levels after matches.

Summary of Opponent Feedback

When to Provide Feedback

  • Feedback can only be given after a match with one court or fewer than five players. This ensures that players can realistically identify their opponents and fairly assess their skills.
  • Feedback can only be provided after a four-player match to ensure players have enough interaction to make an informed judgment.
  • After a match concludes, Main Court will prompt you to provide feedback when you open the app.
  • If you choose to skip the feedback request, the system will not prompt you again until you play another match with the same opponent.

How to Provide Feedback

  1. Select the prompt to give feedback on your opponents.

  1. Options include:
    • Confirming the opponent’s current skill level by selecting Yes.
    • Suggesting a new skill level by selecting No and entering an updated skill level.
    • Choosing Skip to defer providing feedback.

Skill Level Calculation

  • Skill levels are averaged after receiving 10 feedback responses and updated to the nearest tenth.
  • Feedback submissions have a 30-day cooldown, meaning players can only submit feedback 30 days after their last submission if they’ve played a match.
  • Only the most recent match is considered if multiple matches occur without feedback.

As a result, skill levels may fluctuate based on collective feedback, reflecting your current performance dynamically.

Anonymity

All feedback is completely anonymous and cannot be viewed by the player being rated. This ensures honesty and encourages constructive feedback.
