How do I create a Social Event on Main Court
Creating a Social Event on Main Court allows you to host a gathering focused on the social aspects of pickleball, whether for fun, networking, or promoting a cause. A "pickleball social" is a casual gathering where people of all skill levels come together to play pickleball, primarily focused on having fun, meeting new people, and socializing on the court, rather than intense competition; it's a great way to connect with others who enjoy the sport, regardless of their playing ability.
Social Events can be free or include a cost for participants, depending on the organizer's preferences. Follow these steps to create a new Social Event and engage with the Main Court community.
Step 1: To begin, navigate to the home page and locate the "Add" button at the bottom center of your screen.
Step 2: Select "Social Events" to proceed.
Step 3: Next, fill in the required information for your event, including the name, date, time, location, and any additional details. To make your Social Event stand out, we recommend giving it a unique or creative name that reflects the theme or purpose of the gathering. For example, a pickleball social event to promote a canned food drive might be titled "Pickle for a Purpose."
Step 4: After completing the initial details, click "Next," and you will be prompted to upload a photo or flier for your event. While this step is optional, it is highly encouraged to help attract participants and provide visual context for your event. If you choose not to upload a photo, the default event image will be the photo of the courts where the event will be hosted.
Step 5: This next step offers the option to invite attendees. You can send notifications to your Main Court friends, specific players, or groups you are a part of. This helps ensure your desired participants are aware of the event.
Step 6: After managing your invitations, you will be asked if you would like to "Alert the Main Court Community" about your event. This feature is available only if your event is marked as "Open". Selecting this option will notify the broader Main Court community about your event.
Once all steps are complete, your Social Event will be submitted for review by the Main Court staff team. This review process ensures the event meets platform guidelines and typically takes no more than 1 business day.
Creating a Social Event on Main Court is a great way to unite people, encourage pickleball play, and foster community engagement.
