How to Manage & Join Waitlist on Main Court

The Waitlist feature on Main Court allows players to join a queue for a match or event that is currently full or set to open.

If a spot becomes available, the system ensures organizers and players are notified, and the open position can be filled quickly and fairly.

How Players Join the Waitlist

Players can join the waitlist in two ways:

If they accept an invitation after the match or event is already full, they will automatically be added to the waitlist.
If the match or event is marked as “Open,” players can independently request to join the waitlist.

The waitlist displays in the order players joined (first-come, first-serve view).

When a confirmed player cancels:

Previously invited players can still claim an open spot before waitlisted players.
If a previously invited player is also on the waitlist, they will still receive the open-spot notification.
Players on the waitlist do not automatically move into the match.

The organizer always has full control over the roster.

The organizer must manually accept a player from the waitlist to confirm their participation.
The organizer can select any player from the waitlist, regardless of join order.
The displayed waitlist order does not restrict the organizer’s decision.

This flexibility allows organizers to manage skill levels, balance teams, or prioritize specific players when needed.

If a player claims an open position, they must complete registration and payment promptly (if applicable) to secure their place.

Until registration and payment are completed, the spot is not confirmed.
